Tapirulan Illustration Contest 16th Edition
Brief: Create an illustration that reflects your interpretation of the word Utopia.
The word "utopia" was coined by Sir Thomas More in 1516, derived from the Greek words "ou" (meaning "no") and "topos" (meaning "place"), which together translate to "no place." It describes an ideal society that exists only in fiction.I drew inspiration from explorer Percy Fawcett, who disappeared in 1925 while searching for a lost city in the Amazon. His obsessive quest influenced my interpretation of utopia as a labyrinthine structure that symbolises the pursuit of an ideal: hopeful, all-consuming, and perpetually out of reach.
